Spreaders
Productivity, Reliability, Longevity
3 models are available, the 760.2 chain spreader, the most common of the spreaders that Southern Spreaders produce, it features a single or dual conveyor and the main advantage of this machine when compared with the 800 Chain and 860 belt is its ease of maintenance and reliability.
Â
The 800.2 Chain spreader is very similar to the 760.2 with the difference of a fully enclosed return floor, this means that no fertiliser can be carried around and dropped in the chassis of the truck, while this reduces truck maintenance it does require more maintenance in flushing if the machine.
Â
The 860.2 Belt spreader is a belt feed machine, while maintenance is significantly increased due to skirt rubbers and intermediate rollers it does allow the user to spread rates of less than 5kg/ha where the 760.2 and 800. have minimum rates of 5kg/ha
With all the features of the 760.2, the 800.2 adds a fully enclosed return floor and a chain featuring cleaning tabs and slots to drag any carried around material back into the bin, this gives the added advantage of a clean truck chassis by effectively eliminating and returned straggling fertiliser from entering the chassis of the truck, this does however increase bin maintenace through an annual floor strip and clean.
The 860 belt spreader is southern spreaders offering of a rubber belt feed machine, where the 860 belt shines is that it can produce rates as low as 1kg/ha when compared with a minimum rate of 5kg/ha with the chain spreader offerings.
